Pelvic Muscle Relapse

Filed under: Health — admin @ 10:40 am

Women who have experienced childbirth or injuries may have had symptoms of pelvic relaxation. This occurs when muscles in the pelvic region weaken due to damage or stress. The muscles along the pelvic wall generally hold pelvic organs in place such as the bladder, rectum, and uterus. When the pelvic wall weakens, these organs can drop or sag. This can cause conditions which range from slight to serious in severity.

One condition that can occur due to weakened muscles in the pelvic region is called bladder prolapse. Characterized by a sagging of the bladder into the vaginal canal, this condition can result in difficulty emptying the bladder and the feeling that the bladder is always full due to external pressure. Occasionally this sagging causes discomfort and even embarrassment for women. In some cases, a protrusion of the bladder into the vaginal wall is visible near the vaginal opening. In other cases, urine leakage can result even due to minor pressure on pelvic muscles when a woman laughs, coughs, or sneezes.

Fortunately, physicians recommend several corrective measures that can bolster support of the bladder to hold it in place despite the weakened muscles. Depending on the stage of the prolapse, physicians may recommend pelvic floor physical therapy, medication such as Vesicare to relieve frequent urination, or behavioral therapy. An example of a surgical procedure that can be performed involves inserting a mesh sling under the bladder to provide support. Once a physician diagnoses the condition, he or she can discuss the options a patient has, as well as recommendations as to why one solution may be preferable based on the patient’s specific medical needs.

Canon Canada Recreates Commercial Set with Truss

Filed under: Business Services — admin @ 11:39 am

In order to launch a new ad campaign featuring singer Avril Lavigne, Canon Canada recently transformed the Metropolitan Hotel in Toronto into a replica of the pink and white set used in commercials for its Rebel and Elph cameras. The Taylor Group, which staged the event, used a display truss system to support pink lighting that cast a rosy glow over the white carpeting and set-and-repeat backdrop featuring images from one of Lavigne’s past shows. According to Justin Lam, Canon’s director of marketing, the company was “trying to create for the press the same feel we had in the virtual world."

Whether you need an exhibit truss to recreate a commercial set or make your company stand out at the next trade show, Milos Structural System has you covered. The specialized manufacturer of modular display systems offers a strong, secure truss design for every application. These systems are easy to assemble, disassemble, and transport, which makes them ideal solutions to your temporary structure needs.

Mazak Expands Florence Facility

Filed under: Industrial — admin @ 3:53 pm

Recently, Mazak Corporation, which supplies many of Chandler Industries’ lathes, expanded the size and capability of its manufacturing facility in Florence, Kentucky. Following the lean manufacturing model, the expansion of production capabilities will allow for greater efficiency through improved workflow. The $3.3 million growth, which will mainly add 50,000 square feet of floor space, is slated for completion in December 2008.

Mazak President Brian Papke said of the expansion, “The success of the past several years has resulted in substantial growth in our operations. This expansion will enable us to continue to meet the growing demand for world-class machining centers, turning centers and multitasking machines.”

Previously, the Florence facility, which adheres to ISO9001/2000 management standards, consisted of a 362,000 square foot manufacturing plant, a 69,000 square foot National Technology Center, and a 62,000 square foot Customer Support and Service center. Once work on the addition is complete, it will bring the facility’s total operating space up to 543,000 square feet. Chandler Industries, which is working on obtaining TS16949 certification, congratulates Mazak on its expansion.
