Foam Replacement – Stuff Your Cushions

When your couch feels like it’s on its last legs, it isn’t! When your cushions start to sag, there’s a good chance that all that’s wrong with the chair is that you need to put some foam replacement inside of it so that you can give it some new firmness. Your old foam can be taken out with relative ease and just tossed into the garbage. In some cases, you may be able to recycle the old foam, but more often than not you’ll just have to toss it away or use it for another project.

Another option that you have to completely replacing the foam is this. If your couch cushions aren’t stuffed with fluff and actually have one single piece of foam inside them (these couches do exist!), you can take the piece of foam out and flip it upside down, just like “turning” a mattress every few months. You may only be able to do this once or twice before the foam deteriorates completely, but in many cases with cushions like this, you’ll be able to squeeze an additional year or two of sitting out of it!

A full cushion replacement may be required in some cases where the cushion covers themselves have been damaged. It’s expensive to replace the fabric covering cushions, so you may want to consider just purchasing an entirely new couch instead of trying to replace the foam seat. The concept of replacing the foam inside one of these cushions can also be applied to a foam mattress as well, where the process is virtually identical. If you ever get stuck with the installation process, you can look up online at www.foamreplacement.com to know how to do things properly.
