Maximize Your Futon’s Comfort with Foam

Filed under: Goods and Services — admin @ 5:02 pm

People use futons for a variety of reasons. For some, they are a necessity, as living arrangements are so tight, there isn’t enough room for separate bed and living areas. Others enjoy their utility and affordability, even in spaces that could easily accommodate traditional furniture. These days, it’s easy to have a futon that’s as comfortable as any dedicated bed or couch.

Entry-level futons are ubiquitous in college dorms and come with a mattress pad stuffed full of cotton or polyester filling. These are satisfactory for basic use and indifferent students, but adding premium foam cushioning to a futon can transform the utility furniture into something much more luxurious.

One of the most comfortable materials you can use is a memory foam futon pad. Just like the mattresses and pillows made of the same visco-elastic material, memory foam warms to a body’s heat and contours and forms to the user. This produces an incredibly soft and pressure-relieving experience, fantastic for relaxing or sleeping. Memory foam can be used as futon mattress foam, either in a solid section for a firmer experience, or in a shredded form for a softer, more cushioned experience.

Another premium material that can make your futon the definition of comfort is natural latex foam. This material also forms to your body’s contours, springing in immediate response to your movement. Latex foam is an aerating material that breathes and keeps users cool, thanks to its open-cell structure and pin-core design.

Selecting the right cushioning material for your futon can help transform it from a necessary evil to the best seat (and bed) in the house.
