Pinpoint Comfort with Zoned Toppers and Mattresses

Filed under: Goods and Services — admin @ 7:32 pm

As sleep science evolves, we learn more about how we sleep and the impact of a mattress on the body. The idea that each body has its own requirements and needs has been around for years. This is becoming old news as people have begun to realize that not only does every person’s body have different support needs, different areas on the body may require different levels of support as well. This increased understanding is best addressed today with a zoned foam mattress made to order.

A zoned mattress targets areas of the body that generate higher and lower pressure with a corresponding level of firmness to give the user the best sleep possible. The primary purpose of this zoning is to achieve the best body alignment and sleeping posture possible to give the user the most refreshing sleep. Many zoned sleep systems come in foam pillow form like mattress toppers, but entire mattresses combining different firmnesses and feels are slowly entering the market as well.

The concept behind zoned comfort is based around the differing levels of pressure the body generates when in a reclined position. On uniform surfaces, heavier and higher-pressure areas like shoulders, hips, and heels require more cushioning than areas with lower pressure like the head, neck, lower back, and legs. Firmer zones around the high pressure areas will support the areas that need it most, while softer areas will cradle the lighter pressure areas, keeping the body aligned. Zoned mattress toppers are created with computer controlled compression cuts, while full beds like a split queen mattress are made of multiple blocks of foam adhered together to form a complete mattress. If you struggle to get good sleep on even the best bedding, your issues may be more precisely targeted with a zoned sleep surface.
