The three button suit

Filed under: Retail & Ecommerce — publisher @ 2:17 pm

The three button suit seems to have lost its charm, and is not as popular as the two button suit. Amongst men’s suits, the two button suit somehow seems the most elegant. The air surrounding a two button suit is one that is dignified. A three button suit if not worn properly will only make you look shapeless and untidy. The cut of the three button suit does not sit well, and the fully buttoned up appearance could make you look slightly stuffy.

With a two button suit however there is very little that could go wrong. The three button suit does not allow for a larger display of a man’s shirt and tie, which would otherwise make him look sleek and even younger perhaps. The shorter lapels on the three button suits makes it look less elegant and also makes the wearer look restricted. This look of restriction however could be how you are wearing it, and yes, there is a ‘right’ way to wearing a three button suit.

The buttons – fashion experts cite that keeping only the middle button fastened makes the three button suit look far more elegant. Ensure that your tailor makes the jacket to fit you in such a way, that with keeping the middle button secured, you can create a very attractive X shape. This X shaped fall is quite appealing rather than the suit falling straight, making it look rather dull.

The fit – unlike with tuxedos, the three button suit will not show off the shape of your body unless tailored well. With most wearers of the three button suit, what goes wrong is that the jacket is too loose and thus all its appeal is lost.
